To manage conflict effectively, it's important to know what conflict is and the impact on your organization. We'll review some key statistics about conflict in the workplace before diving into our conflict styles. Armed with understanding how we address conflict, we'll dive into identifying other conflict styles and how to productively manage to them in the workplace through conversations and coaching strategies. Learning Objectives: 1. Define workplace conflict and explain its common causes and organizational impact using current statistics. 2. Identify their personal conflict style and recognize its strengths and limitations. Describe other common conflict styles and how they show up in workplace interactions. 3. Apply coaching strategies and conversation techniques to manage and navigate conflict productively across different styles.
Sharon Delay has owned her own business since 2002 and is a wealth of knowledge in the HR industry. Sharon holds an MBA and undergraduate degrees in Human Resources, Education, and Communication. She holds her SPHR, her SHRM-SCP, and her Certified Professional Resume Writer and Certified Professional Career Coach certifications and is a trained and experienced workplace investigator. She honed her professional career in the direct sales, higher education, and communication industries. Sharon has held board and committee chair positions with NAWBO Columbus, the Women's Small Business Accelerator, HRACO, and the Central Ohio chapter of the International Coach Federation. She was nominated for NAWBO Columbus 2015 Member of the Year and 2016 Visionary, and was awarded The 2015 Champion Award from NAWBO Columbus. The Champion Award recognizes one outstanding person who advocates for the growth and success of women in business. She has also received Westerville Chamber's Business Person of the Year and her business received the Small Business of the Year award.
