Learning Objectives:
  • Develop Awareness and Skills
Equip participants with a solid understanding of disability etiquette and inclusive language to foster respectful and supportive interactions with employees with disabilities.

  • Identify and Address Barriers
Teach employers to recognize workplace barriers and limitations, especially those impacting employees with invisible disabilities, and provide strategies to address these challenges effectively.

  • Promote Inclusivity
Empower employers to create a more inclusive workplace culture by embracing diversity, understanding the unique needs of employees with disabilities, and implementing practices that ensure equity and accessibility.




Tanya Kimball Vela, OTR/L, ADAC, is the Accessible Ohio Specialist for the Southeast region with the Division of Employer and Innovation Services (EIS) at Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD). In this role, Tanya supports Ohio’s businesses, communities, venues, and attractions to be accessible and inclusive through individualized consultations, education, and resources. Accessible Ohio Specialists are available to consult directly with local partners to help identify barriers and establish goals for accessibility and provide information about potential funding resources.

Returned Check Fee
The return of a check (electronic or paper) issued to Human Resources Association of Central Ohio (HRACO) may result in a returned check fee of $30 or 10% of the check amount, whichever is greater.  In those instances where a check is returned for non-sufficient funds, we will contact the individuals who registered for the event to secure the registration or event fee and the returned check fee. The registrant will be prevented from attending any future events in the organization until the payment and resulting fee(s) are resolved. HRACO reserves the right to recover any fees through the guidelines of the Ohio Revised Code, if necessary.
