This webinar will be a background overview of the National Labor Relations Act of 1935, union activity and the authority power of the National Labor Relations Board.

- Authority power and recent activity of the National Labor Relations Board.
- 2023/2024 rules published by the Board that employers should be aware of.


Paul Bittner is a partner and past co-chair of Ice Miller's Labor and Employment Group. He has been practicing law since 1993 with an emphasis on labor and employment law and has extensive experience representing employers.
Paul has represented both public and private sector employers in union negotiations, labor arbitrations, unfair labor practice proceedings, representation elections, and other related matters in front of the National Labor Relations Board and state agencies. Paul is a member of the Wage and Hour Defense Institute, providing counsel to employers on all aspects of wage and hour compliance. He has tried both individual and collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Paul is a frequent lecturer on a variety of employment law topics including traditional labor law, ADA, FMLA, wage and hour and sexual harassment. He has successfully represented employers in jury trials, bench trials, arbitrations and administrative hearings.

Masallay Komrabai-Kanu is an associate in Ice Miller’s Workplace Solutions Group. Masallay represents and counsels employers in all areas of labor and employment, including wrongful termination claims, wage and hour matters, compliance issues and the development of workplace practices and internal policies. Masallay also defends employers against charges or claims of discrimination and/or retaliation filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), conducts workplace investigations and provides harassment prevention trainings for employees and human resource representatives.

Returned Check Fee
The return of a check (electronic or paper) issued to Human Resources Association of Central Ohio (HRACO) may result in a returned check fee of $30 or 10% of the check amount, whichever is greater.  In those instances where a check is returned for non-sufficient funds, we will contact the individuals who registered for the event to secure the registration or event fee and the returned check fee. The registrant will be prevented from attending any future events in the organization until the payment and resulting fee(s) are resolved. HRACO reserves the right to recover any fees through the guidelines of the Ohio Revised Code, if necessary.
