The purpose of this program is to educate HR professionals about second chance hiring and the benefits.

Learning Objectives:
- Define what being a second chance employer means.
- Learn what to expect from a second chance workforce that will engage the workforce has a whole.
- Determine what an employer considering second chance employment should evaluate for the business case and best strategic approach.
- Learn about potential second chance hiring employee/employer resources to increase the talent pool.
- Learn the benefits of being a second chance employer to effectively manage your workforce, increase the DEIB of your organization, leading to a more responsibility corporate footprint.

Tia Johnson, CEO and Founder of Fresh Bloom Bins is an advocate for second chances. She devotes a substantial amount of her life advocating for improving people's quality of life. As a certified life coach, financial educator and now founder of a sanitation business, her work is geared towards helping others achieve holistic success and improved living conditions. Tia founded Fresh Bloom Bins, a curbside trash bin cleaning company, servicing commercial properity and residential communities. As a second-chance employer, she believes in ensuring opportunities for success are availble for all, regardless of someone's past life experiences. Tia is also the founder and CEO of Enlighten Angle Financial Group, an education platform that helps teenage girls increase their financial literacy.

Kyle Overmyer is the Regional Director for Hickory Recovery and Co-Owner of KO Addiction. As one of Ohio's youngest sherriff elects, he made headlines for his remarkable rise to power and subsequent fall due to a prescription opiod addiction. Initially elected as sheriff, Overmyer's life took an unexpected turn when he was prescribed opiates to manage his arthritis. Unfortunately, he became addicted to the medication, leading to a series of legal troubles. Overmyer faced a total of 43 charges related to his misuse of prescription opiods. Eventually, he pld guilty to 12 of these charges and was subsequently sentenced to a a four-year prison term. This marked a dramatic downfall for a promising career in law enforcement. Following his incarceration, Kyle has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to turning his life around. He has become a staunch advocate for addressing the stigma surrounding addiction and mental health issues. Alongside his personal journey to recovery, Overmyer co-founded KO Addiction, an organization dedicated to providing support and education for those grappling with addiction and mental health challenges. In addition to his advocacy work, Kyle has continued his education, earning a Bachelors in Business and is certified as an event interventionist, demonstrating his dedicating to helping individuals struggling with addition. He hold sa Certified Chemical Dependency Counseling Assistant credenital, allowing him to make a positive impact on the lives of others facing similar challenges.

Kehinde McAllister is dedicated professional with exceptional organizational, communication, and project management skills. As a second chance employee, Kehinde has been driven by being able to pay it forward to others needing a second chance. After 8 years of doing time, he has turned his journey into a testimony. Kehinde started working warehouse jobs in 2011, finally finding a place to embrace his passions at Rehrig Pacific Company in 2015. As a pallet sorter, to forklift operator, he worked his way through the ranks. He was promoted to supervisor within one year. Kehinde started traveling around the region helping other sites with production. Little did he know, his keen sense of operational efficiencies would put in place standards that would be implemented at various locations as the new norm. Kehinde has held titles at RPC of supervisor, senior supervisor, production manager, and now is the plant manager at the Grove City Reverse Logistics Center. Here, he ensures all safety policies and procedures are adhered to, manages labor and expenses including budgeting, sets and ensures production expectations are met, and ensures his team has the skills needed to pass along to all their direct reports. Kehinde interacts well with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. As part of Rehrig Pacific Company's ERG, he holds title as the Outreach Engagement Officer. He has presented several times at conferences and leadership trainings as part of his roles of the ERG.

Returned Check Fee
The return of a check (electronic or paper) issued to Human Resources Association of Central Ohio (HRACO) may result in a returned check fee of $30 or 10% of the check amount, whichever is greater.  In those instances where a check is returned for non-sufficient funds, we will contact the individuals who registered for the event to secure the registration or event fee and the returned check fee. The registrant will be prevented from attending any future events in the organization until the payment and resulting fee(s) are resolved. HRACO reserves the right to recover any fees through the guidelines of the Ohio Revised Code, if necessary.
